Some Community Projects

One of our goals is to help others in the community to start and maintain sustainable forms of income and to improve living condtions. Here are some pictures of a few of our projects.

Clean water is of prime importance and can drastically reduce disease when current water access is improved by water catchment tanks and drilling wells. Below are pictures of current water sources.

Education is of prime importance for the communities we serve. Below are some pictures of distributing school materials to students. Many families are too poor to send the children in their care to school.

Teaching villagers to get involved in making and selling various items can increase the incomes of families. Below are pictures of baskets being made along with candle making. Both items can be sold for extra income.

Showing the community the cattle that we have received from the CARITAS MADDO project. 50 households are to get a cow. So far 27 have been given out.

School Supplies

Below are a few pictures of a recent school supplies distribution to the children in our care. This is always a happy event which we scheduled on 2014/01/29 in preparation for the upcoming school term. Being able to get an education for these children is a lifeline bringing hope for a better future for them.

Education of as many children as we can provide for is an important priority in our work at Community Child and Youth Care Network.

Director's Introduction

A personal introduction from the director:

Hello friends,

My name is Ssenyonga Patrick. I am a 36 year old Ugandan. I am a director at Community Child and Youth Care Network Uganda fomerly called Lwabenge Child Caring Community, an organization founded with a sole purpose of helping needy children and the youth that started in 2008. I am a businessman dealing in tours and travel business under my company called Leisure Park Travel Services, Ltd as a director. I hold a Bachelors degree in Organizational Management and a Diploma in Tourism.

Life of a child without a parent is so hard. No parental love, no care, no shelter, no food, no happiness, no access to basic needs, nothing totally. That is what it is like with the children of Uganda and Africa at large. The number of orphans and needy children is rising day by day in Uganda due to a number of factors like HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other epidemics. My project area of Kalungu, Masaka and Rakai Districts  in Uganda is where HIV/AIDS first hit so the situation is worse there.

I came to realize the need the people in my area have, especially the children and the youth because they are the future generations. I started up an organization called Lwabenge Child Caring Community as a community based organization which was later transformed to a national organization under the name of Community Child and Youth Care Network Uganda (CCYC-Net). We have accomplished big changes for the people in my project area, uniting children, youth and the aged to engage in income generating activities which have helped them a lot in developing themselves and their families.

At the moment 200 needy children are registered with us and 150 youth. we do provide all what we can do to them especially in education by providing scholastic materials at least every educational term.
I am able to meet this with my little salary I earn and contributions from friends and well wishers and the community plus some income from the projects we carry out like craft making, bee keeping, farming and others.

We face many challenges but because GOD is in the middle of everything that we do, everything is possible.

I also call upon everybody who would wish to travel to Uganda or East Africa for holidays/touring, please I can render exellent service to you at affordable price. Every bit helps.

Please join me in the struggle. You are welcome to read more information at the links at the top of this page or by contacting me personally.

May God bless you
Thank you

Clean Water

This is the source of water in our project area that the community uses. Due to such waters being used and sometimes shared with cattle, it leads to many sickness in our children. In some cases water is being collected from puddles. We need to improve this by protecting the spring wells like the one below, constructing harvest water tanks per household or at least shared by two families and constructing bore holes. With that, children will be free from water born diseases.

Our clean water project goals for 2014-2016 are construction of water harvesting tanks and 5 spring wells and 2 bore holes.

Please join us  in the struggle for clean safe water...

An Invitation For Volunteers

As a self help organization focusing on empowering orphaned children, women, youth and poor families we want to promote more community development. To do this we have very very limited resources and at times no resources at all, yet things have to move on.

We invite VOLUNTEERS from within Uganda and anywhere in the world to give a hand in improving the lives of others. We welcome any volunteer who is willing to train in any skill to contact us.

Below are pictures of two volunteers we have hosted at different times who have graciously spent their time here helping out.
(We couldn't get the date on the camera right so dates are not at all accurate.)
